Not only were we faced with the arrival of American president bush, but we also witnessed one of the biggest anti war protests in the capital.
100 000 people came from all over the country to give their views about the Iraq war and more importantly how Bush’s and his administration policies acted towards war.
One of the main highlights were a mock put down of a bush statuette brought in by the protesters; Hilarious because it had the same real time coverage as the earlier statue put down at Basra a few moths ago in Iraq.
Still one thing which I think diluted the efforts was the fact it was more of“protest” frenzy, pointing at many issues (Iraq, Bush, Palestine, Gm crops?) instead of concentrating on one issue.
Anyways it was a good move as it showed the world the UK’s real stance towards the war and Bush, and how weak our voices really are in politics these days.
Also on a happier mood, England are now the worlds best rugby team!!! First time they actually win the world cup, it was a glorious although a bit of a messy match against Australia yesterday. Cheers could be heard throughout the capital in the morning, and pubs were full of totally pissed out fans by noon hehe.
Oh yeah , Happy Bday Matt ( for wed) and next week is its Bday Gathering on Saturday , so I hope you’ll be many in London to join in the fun : )
Peace out duudes and dudettes,
