The iconic director of the famous Pulp fiction, Reservoir dogs and Jackie Brown is back with a vengeance this week with his fourth film: Kill Bill.
News indeed, as its been a couple of years now since his last production. Some thought (wrongly lol) that he became senile and stepped away from the scene, but the truth is far from it.
As a birthday present to Uma Thurman he promised to finish an earlier project, and damn it if he's delivered another all star cult classic.
I wont spoil the story, but let me say that it's miles apart from his earlier films. As usual Quentin goes beyond usual techniques, and tries to innovate mixing spaghetti westerns, the action and scene of Japanese/Chinese fight flicks with the usual unadulterated violence and style he's renowned for.
My only complaint is that the timeless and "cool" dialogue of the previous films has been traded for Japanese subtitled dialogue...Still the epic antihero remains, as well as another kick ass soundtrack to accompany the beautifully filmed scenes.
In other words...Leave now and go to a cinema to grab ½ of cinematic history once again.
Other wise, I suppose all other news fade in comparison when such a film comes out:)
Anyways, time to shed out your woollies and shades, as this autumn is going be as variable as England's performance will be for Euro 2004...
Peace out.Q
